Downtown Charleston Engagement Session

Okay y’all I may be a LITTLE biased on this one, but this downtown Charleston engagement session might be my favorite! It was my absolute greatest joy to photograph my son and soon to be daughter-in-law in my favorite place, Charleston!

Even on a cloudy day, this city is beaming with light and beautiful colors. We started their engagement session on the famous Rainbow Row! There are so many streets in this area for photos! It is full of colors, iron gates, benches, and flower boxes over spilling with florals!

Two of my other favorite areas to photograph in downtown Charleston are the many houses along Tradd Street, and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. This church is a huge white landmark in the middle of the historic district. It has beautiful marble steps for portraits, and a white bell tower you can see it from a mile away.

One of my favorite parts of being downtown is seeing the horse carriages go by on the streets. There were a few moments throughout their session where a horse carriage trotted by. It made for a great quick photo opportunity!

Rachel and Micah had two outfits for their early spring engagement session. Rachel picked up two beautiful and vibrant spring dresses from Marshalls! This is such a great place to snag a great deal on a designer gown for your engagement session.

“My fiancé and I have known each other since we were 5 years old. We grew up in school together and in our junior year of high school he started messaging me. After talking for almost a year, we finally went on our first date on 8/3/17. We dated all throughout our senior year, and then went to separate colleges. We reunited in our hometown where we dated for a while longer before getting engaged on 4/6/20!

Our engagement was in the middle of the pandemic, but still the most special moment we’ve ever had. He took me to Linville Falls where we hiked up with our golden retriever to a waterfall! It was just the two of us and I turned around to him on his knee proposing to me! I was speechless. It was such a special moment just the two of us, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! We have almost been engaged for a year and cannot wait to get married on October 23, 2021!!!”
