Melanie is a gorgeous bride! It doesn’t hurt that we also got to photograph her bridal session in the beautiful southern city of Charleston, SC. Any chance I get to head to the lowcountry is a treat! I love that I live so close to so many beautiful locations for photography. Exploring locations is truly one of my favorite parts of this job. Charleston, SC has the classic southern charm etched in every cobblestone lined street. Visitors come from all over to see the well-known Rainbow Row and historic areas. So I was so excited when Melanie reached out about shooting her session here.
It was a particularly windy day, but Melanie was a trooper. I think the wind made for some iconic shots as I love to incorporate movement into my images. When I arrived for Melanie’s bridal session, I met up with her and her sweet mom. We then rode all around this amazing city, stopping at all the best photo spots. We made it to Hampton Park which is one of the prettiest areas complete with stunning Spanish moss.
Not only do I love capturing beautiful images for my brides, but I love to have fun! At one point during the session, we laughed so hard because I sent Melanie’s mom back to my car to get her veil. She kept clicking my car key, but the door would not open. We were baffled, but it turned out she was trying to get into a stranger’s car! Never a dull moment around here. 🙂
I am also super proud of Melanie in her weight loss journey since her engagement session. This girl is truly beautiful inside and out. Her and her mom are the sweetest! Enjoy these beautiful photos of this amazing bride! I’ve sprinkled some special memories from this couple throughout the post.

The picture charms on the bouquet were of both sets of my grandparents. Both of my grandmothers have passed. The ribbon wrapped around the bouquet has a floral applique from my mother’s wedding dress. My sister also had a piece of the dress around her bouquet (lace). Also, the ring bearer pillows also had floral applique from my mother’s wedding dress.
